A wonderful way to get to DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge Park is by taking the East River Ferrry.This water taxi operates between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Hop on the ferry at Wall Street/Pier 11 and you can go directly to DUMBO in just four minutes. The plan is to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan, I have it all worked out getting over to Brooklyn, but we would like to following the walk over head over to Chinatown to check it out. From where you exit the bridge would it be easier to walk to it or take the subway. If we walk what would be the best/quickest route if we take the subway which route/train would be the best option.

I was thinking of walking from Times Square to and over the Brooklyn bridge - taking in the sights along the way - the village, Little Italy and Chinatown - stopping in Katz Deli along the way.. I will be with my wife - is this a very long walk and is it safe.
